Why I Love Windows

There are so many things in life that windows are associated with. Windows are much, much more than just panes of glass set in the walls of a building.

Some famous quotes about windows include:

“A smile is a light in the window of the soul, indicating that the heart is at home.”

“People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”  -Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

“People everywhere love Windows.”   -Bill Gates

“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”   -Sydney J. Harris

“Let there be many windows to your soul, that all the glory of the world may beautify it.”  -Ella Wheeler Wilcox

“A breeze, a forgotten summer, a smile, all can fit into a storefront window.”  -Dejan Stojanovic, The Sun Watches the Sun

“Deception sneaks in through the window of pride.”

There are so many quotes about windows, it would take hundreds of pages to even touch them.

I like windows because they let me see out and they bring light in. When they are squeaky clean you can hardly notice there is any glass there. It’s as if you can see from your warm house into the cold outside without feeling the temperature change.

I like windows in the summer because I can open them to catch a cool breeze. I like windows in the winter because I can stay toasty warm inside even when there’s a LOT of snow outside!

“Love unlocks doors and opens windows that weren’t even there before.”  -Mignon McLaughlin

Windows have been loved by humanity since the dawn of time. They have been painted, glorified, and made into breathtaking works of art.

Stained glass windows have adorned ancient cathedrals for centuries.

I love seeing a cat perched on a window ledge. Or a dog with a wet nose and a wagging tail who simply can’t wait to be let outside to run and play.
